Celia
Ward
was
born into a painting family in Kent, England. She studied her craft in
this milieu, and at The Royal Academy schools in London. She read
History at University College, London.
In 1983
she won the Richard Ford Travel Award to draw at the Prado, Madrid.

Trust on a 'portrait' of Malancrav village (Transylvania) and its Saxon

Bucharest, working in collaboration with 'Sfanta Margareta' children's
hospice. UK exhibition (organised by 'Children in Distress') in
November 2003, title ‘Images of Childhood’, showing drawings of children
at 'Sfanta Margareta' alongside more usual images of childhood.

funding to set up textile project in Manor Park, East London. Also
funded by Newham Borough and Church Central Fund. To encourage creative
interaction of different racial, cultural, and religious groups within
Manor Park and to make decorations for public buildings that reflect the
diverse cultures of the area.

beginning on series of portraits and images of different religious
groups based in forest Gate in East London. Work from this project will
form an exhibition in East London in 2008
